Training Net Preamble

 

Calling all radio amateurs:  the Alabama Emergency Net Kilo is now active for a training session.  This is [YOUR CALLSIGN], net control, my name is [YOUR NAME].

 

This net serves as the primary emergency net for Franklin, Marion, and Winston Counties in the state of Alabama and meets Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m. on the K4NXB repeater in Spruce Pine.  Alternate frequencies are 147.21 simplex and 146.48 simplex.

 

This net exists to train amateur radio operators for emergency operation.  It is affiliated with the Alabama Emergency Net System and the Amateur Radio Emergency Service.

 

This is a directed net.  Please do not call other stations without permission of net control.  Please follow the appropriate rules for identification when making transmissions on the net.

 

Training Net Procedure

 

At this time, any station with emergency, priority, or welfare traffic, call now.

 

Are there any stations with announcements?

 

Are there any stations with formal written traffic?

 

Are there any stations with informal traffic?

 

Do we have liaison stations to the North Alabama SKYWARN Net?

 

Do we have liaison stations to the Birmingham SKYWARN Net?

 

At this time, I will take check-ins from the net’s primary service area, beginning with Franklin County.
